Pennsylvania’s Fireflies
Please meet Jeff Calta, from the Pennsylvania Firefly Festival (PAFF), at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom for an evening interpretive walk in a search for Pennsylvania’s state insect – the firefly! There are over 20 different species of fireflies in Pennsylvania including the rare Synchronous Firefly. Many of these fireflies inhabit Cook Forest. Bring your flashlights and headlamps for the and join PAFF as we discover the beauty and fascination of this wonderous creature.

Illuminated Night Hike: Old Growth Forests of Ridge Camp
Please bring your flashlights & headlamps and meet at the Nuthole Cabin, located at the entrance of Ridge Camp, for an evening candlelit 2-mile interpretive hike within the ancient forest surrounding the campground. Centuries old hemlock, oak, and black cherry abound.
