Please join The Friends of Cook Forest for the 3rd Annual Walk in Penn’s Woods on the Birch Trail – the trail head is next to the driveway of the Cook Forest State Park Office – meet at the front of the office.

This 2-mile walk is the section of the Birch Trail that goes along a ridge above Tom’s Run in Cook Forest State Park. The Park just leveled and smoothed this trail. Birch Trail runs through part of the ancient forest of Cook Forest. The trail is dominated by ancient Eastern hemlocks, white pine, beech and maple trees, and ferns. People-friendly leashed pets are allowed; owner must clean up after their pets. This is not a stroller and/or wheelchair friendly walk.

The Friends of Cook Forest is a chapter of the PA Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
