Join us for the Cook Forest Vacation Bureau’s – Snowman in the Forest , February 18th at 11:30am to 2:30pm! Snowman in the Forest is a family event held annually at the Cook Forest Ice Skating Pond along the Clarion River on River Road featuring winter activities such as skating, sledding, carriage rides, hiking, along with a visit from Smokey the Bear, chili cook-off, happy dog contest and more!

Snowman in the Forest Contest Rules:
Build a snowman in any sponsor’s location, from the first snowfall of the season to the last snowfall in February. Have the sponsor take a picture of you and your snowman and it will be entered in the contest and displayed on our Facebook/Website: www.CookForest.org.

Snowman in the Forest Event Schedule

11:30 am – Chili Cook Off – Mild and Hot Divisions

11:30 am – Guided hike within the old growth forest on Cook Trail.

11:30 am – 2:30 pm – Carriage rides, sledding, Snowman building, Wildlife presentation, K-9 Rescue team presentation, Face painting, indoor games, and much more!!

1:00 pm – Happy Dog Contest, Guided hike within the old growth forest on Cook Trail.

2:00 pm – Door Prize Awards

Please bring your binoculars to the Fire Tower for an historical tour of Fire Tower #9 conducted by park volunteers, Kelley & Al Bilotto. Take a breathtaking view from the box at the very top of the Fire Tower and learn how it operated. The tower will be open from 100-300pm.
