Recreation/Attractions
Cook Forest & Clear Creek Areas offer
a lot to do so come visit, plan a day trip or stay a week. While
there are a lot of businesses in our area that have recreational
activities, there are also fun, free things to include in your
visit. Here are a few suggestions:
 |
Fishing The Clarion
River flows along the park border and provides fishing for
trout, warm-water game fish and panfish. About 2.5 miles of
Tom's Run is stocked with trout. A special fishing pond stocked
with trout is by the park office and is available for use by
children 12 and younger and people with a disability. A level
grass bank at the edge of the pond provides easy access. |
 |
Scenic Overlooks
Located off Route 36, 1 mile North of the Clarion River, visit
both the Fire Tower and Seneca Point in one stop. The Fire Tower
is an 80-foot climb that gives you a wonderful view! The tower
was built in 1929 to give firefighters a 15-20 mile view of the
area. From the Seneca Point rock ledges, you can see the Clarion
Valley. |
 |
Picnicking Picnic
tables are along the Clarion River in the River Cabin Picnic
Area, in the Sawmill Area and near the exit of Fire Tower Road.
Two large picnic pavilions may be reserved up to 11 months in
advance for a fee. Unreserved picnic pavilions are free on a
first-come, first-served basis. There are accessible restrooms
and picnic tables near both picnic pavilions. |

Our business directory lists many
of the area attractions in Cook Forest State Park, Clear Creek
State Park, and the surrounding areas. Canoeing, fun parks with
water slides and go carts, horse back riding, and golf courses
are but a few of the attractions the area has to offer in
addition to the more traditional hiking and wildlife spotting
activities. The following photos are from members that would
like you to see what fun things you can do when visiting their
business. |
