Anybody can browse the photo gallery, but you must register for a free account to add photos to the galley. Once your registration is approved, you will be emailed a Registration Confirmation with a link to activate your account. You can then login and start uploading photos!

Once you login, click the [upload file] link then [create/order my albums] to find the [new album] button. You need to create at least one album to hold your uploaded photos, but please do create as many as needed to best organize your photos.

How It Works - The Tech Stuff

Our Coppermine photo gallery is organized this way: Categories | Albums | Photos. In other words, you put your photos into albums and (if possible), select a pre-defined category to put each of your albums into. We'll understand though if there isn't really an appropriate category.

When you upload photos to the gallery, your original file will be added to the gallery in three different sizes: a 128 px wide thumbnail, a 400 px intermediate size and an popup with your original size photo.

The maximum size photo that your account will let you upload is 1200 x 1200 pixels with a file size limit of 1024 KB (1 MB). That is a very big photo by the way.

If you’re taking photos with a digital camera, the photos often turn out to be really, really huge in "actual" size (you probably didn't know it but it's not uncommon that they're two or three feet wide). We'd like to suggest that you resize these photos on your computer to a reasonable size (like 800-1200 pixels wide) before uploading them to the photo gallery, so that we don't drown the web server!

You can right-click any photo on your computer and select properties from the menu that pops up to determine the file size and height and width of any photo.
